NOMINATION DEADLINE IS APRIL 15, 2024


The purpose of the ETAF shall be to fund awards made to qualified teachers who have demonstrated an exceptional contribution to the preparation of students for life after graduation, including intellectual accomplishment, community contribution, social integration and personal motivation.

Qualified teachers:

  1. Have been nominated by students of West Anchorage High School (WHS), parents of WHS students, WHS staff or members of the WHS community.
  2. Have been fully certified as secondary education teachers in the Anchorage School District for three or more years;
  3. Are current West Anchorage High School teachers, and,
  4. Will have taught at West Anchorage High School full time for no less than three consecutive school years, or,
  5. Will have taught at West Anchorage High School part time (a minimum of three “for credit” courses each semester) for no less than three consecutive school years, provided they have been full time teachers serving the balance of their teaching at other Anchorage School District schools,
  6. Will not have received this award in any of the immediately prior three years, and,
  7. Will have been determined by the ETAF Selection Committee, composed of Staff, Teachers, Parents and Students, to have met these qualifications.

Students, parents of students, fellow WHS staff members and members of the community may nominate exceptional teachers at any time from the beginning of the school calendar year until April 10th using the Nomination Form on this website.
